Nicolette Swaby is a Media Practitioner, Author, Gospel recording artiste and songwriter, podcaster, and designer. She is excited to be among those called to release the song of the Lord in the earth. She is an all round creative personality who loves the Lord and is honored to be a part of His great move.
Nicolette is a native of Jamaica, known for its vibrant culture and creative prowess, of which she is a product. She has been singing from the tender age of seven, but yielded to the call to the music ministry during her studies at the University of the West Indies, Mona campus in Jamaica, where she earned a BA in Media and Communication.
She was co-host of ‘Kingdom Movements’ on Newstalk 93fm alongside Dhane Brown (Caleb). At the time, she used the alias ‘JRootz,’ the name under which she released her first singles, ‘What If’ and ‘Be My River’ in 2017. Both singles received number 1 spots on Gospel JA FM Gospel Countdown with Wyatt KC Davis. ‘What If’ also received number 1 spot on the Top 10 Charts of BIWST (Be Inspired with Shoggy Tosh) on SALT FM UK. She also received the number 2 spot for song of the year.
Nicolette is also former host of ‘Heart of Gold’ radio program on Gospel JA FM in Jamaica, where she was affectionately called ‘The Teacher.’ Her passion for music and youth led her to pioneer the programs ‘Youthfest’ and ‘New Music & Artiste Feature’.
Nicolette loves the Lord and is passionate about seeing the people of God walk in their God-given potential. She is an ordained minister at Bible Teachers International under the leadership of Apostle, Dr. Mary Banks. She has served in her home church as praise and worship leader, youth leader and serves with the radio broadcasting network, Bible Teachers Broadcasting network, BTBN radio.
She is married to her best friend and producer, Andrew Swaby, and together, they have a handsome baby boy, Judah. They head their independent production company, JRootz productions.
JRootz Productions is a music production company and Christian-based charity organization, which began operations in 2014, and has hosted fundraising events to assist families, and has conducted yearly street feedings and evangelism.
JRootz productions is set to release its first musical project in 2021. This will be Nicolette’s debut album, ‘The Reformation’.
She is also excited about delivering her knowledge and experiences as a psalmist in her new book, ‘Bring Me A Minstrel’.
