
Nicolette Swaby is a Psalmist, Author, and Podcaster. She entered the music space in 2017 under the name ‘JRootz,’ the name under which she released her first singles, ‘What If’ and ‘Be My River’. Both singles received number 1 spots on Gospel JA FM Gospel Countdown with Wyatt KC Davis. ‘What If’ also received the number 1 spot on the Top 10 Charts of BIWST (Be Inspired with Shoggy Tosh) on SALT FM UK. She also received the number 2 spot for song of the year on the same program.
Nicolette is former host of ‘Heart of Gold’ on Gospel JA FM in Jamaica, where she was affectionately called ‘The Teacher.’
As an intercessory worshiper, Nicolette desires to be one God can use to declare His move, edify His people and pray His will over the nations. She is passionate about seeing God’s people walk in their God-given potential. This is the inspiration behind her podcast, Roadblock Podcast with Nicolette Swaby.
Nicolette is an ordained evangelist at Bible Teachers International under the leadership of Apostle, Dr. Mary Banks. She has served in her home church as praise and worship minister, youth leader and serves with the radio broadcasting network, Bible Teachers Broadcasting network, BTBN.
She is married to her best friend and producer, Andrew Swaby, and together, they have two children, Judah and Malachi. They head their independent production company, JRootz Productions.
Nicolette released her debut album, ‘The Reformation, Vol. 1’ in 2021 under JRootz Productions. She went on to release an EP, ‘Songs Mama Loved: HYMNS’ in 2022 in honor of her late grandmother.
She is passionate about the psalmist ministry and the art of intercessory worship. She has chronicled her journey in her book, ‘Bring Me A Minstrel’ a guide to understanding the psalmist ministry.
